Rotating Machine Blade with Reinforced Modular Structure (Publication number: 20140227100)
Alain Godichon, Guy Constant Delaisse
Publication date: August 14, 2014
The invention concerns a blade designed to be fitted to the rotor of a rotating machine, said blade being characterized in that it exhibits a modular construction including: a rigid, median module formed by a coffer, which is itself formed by joining two side panels that are connected to one another by at least one side rail, the side panels being connected by at least one weld executed on an internal protuberance on the said side panels that is set back from the intrados and the extrados of the blade, an upstream module forming a leading edge and added onto the upstream portion of the median module, a downstream module forming a trailing edge and added onto the downstream portion of the median module blades for rotating machines and corresponding fabrication methods.

Axial Air Movement Fans (GB 2486470 A)
Geoff Sheard, Alain Godichon & D. Revillot
June 2012
The invention relates to axial fans comprising a hub mounted for rotation about an axis. The fan comprises a plurality of elongated fan blades, only one of which is shown as reference, equidistantly disposed about the hub’s periphery and secured so as to extend in a generally radial direction. The blade consists of an elongated member extending generally radially and is secured at its root to the hub at a slight angle to the hub’s plane of rotation. The fan has in its cross-section a major and a minor axis. It also has a radially extending longitudinal main axis. Each blade includes at least one damping mass secured to the fan in such a way as to enable the mass to oscillate relative to the blade in response to the blade’s oscillatory flexing, thereby damping the blade’s flexing.

Free flight installation to artificial production of levitating wind (Patent number: 6315672)
Dominique Gillot, Alain Godichon, Paul Ponsonnet, Jean-Louis Soleilhac
Grant: April 17, 2000
Apparatus is disclosed for the production of a levitational wind comprising a flight chamber defining a levitation area, a blower unit including a plurality of blowers connected in parallel so as to provide their combined flow to the air inlet of the flight chamber, each of the blowers being disposed outside of the levitation area, with the blower unit having an axis essentially perpendicular to the vertical axis of the flight chamber, and an air coupler interposed between the air inlet of the flight chamber and the blower unit, the air coupler including a substantially 90° bend between the blower unit and the air inlet of the flight chamber, and wherein each of the plurality of blowers includes a delivery element for removable connection to the air coupler.

Method and device for cleaning fan impellers (Patent number: 5427565)
Alain Godichon
Grant: June 27, 1995
In a method of cleaning fan impellers bursts of solid material are discharged towards the impeller blades or other parts of the impeller, subjected to deposits, by pulses of compressed air, shot from a compressed air cannon. A device for cleaning fan impellers includes at least one compressed air cannon for directing shots in the form of pulses of compressed air towards the impeller blades or other parts of the impeller. The outlet cylinder of the cannon is loaded with a charge of solid material to be discharged towards the impeller blades or said other parts of the impeller, upon shooting a pulse of compressed air.

Device for assembling an impeller on a driving shaft (Patent number: 5207561)
Alain Godichon
Grant: May 4, 1993
An assembly or coupling arrangement for an impeller associated with a drive shaft. The impeller is supported by the drive shaft by a radial bearing having a small radial clearance. The bearing allows relative rotary motion between the impeller and shaft. In addition, an elastic or resilient element is mounted between the shaft and the impeller to transmit the torque from the shaft to the impeller while preventing or reducing transmission of torque pulsations.

Performance centrifugal blower apparatus including at least two suction inlets, and associated blower method (Patent number: 5980199)
Alain Emile Godichon
Grant: November 9, 1999
A centrifugal blower apparatus suitable for industrial uses has a least a delivery outlet and at least two fluid inlets disposed on either side of a blower wheel suitable for being rotated by a drive system. Each inlet is associated with a respective control system for controlling the suction flow rate of fluid and is capable of establishing asymmetrical suction flow rates between the inlets. The inlets are fitted with control systems which differ in their mechanical structures and their characteristics concerning fineness of control.

Centrifugal wheel (Patent number: 6976828)
Alain François Emile Godichon, Pierre Jacques François Grassi, Sylvain Georges Raymond Guillemin
Grant : December 20, 2005
A centrifugal compressor wheel including a metal hub for connecting to a drive shaft, an inlet plate and an outlet plate fixed to the metal hub, and a plurality of blades, each blade having a beginning and a peripheral portion, fixed between the inner plate and the outer plate. The wheel further includes an annular metal insert integrated in the central portion of the wheel at a periphery of the hub, the annular metal insert having metal elements forming the beginnings of the blades of the wheel. The inlet plate, the outlet plate, and the peripheral portions of the blades are made of a composite material, thereby constituting a composite portion of the wheel.

Composite material centrifugal wheel (Patent number: 6402467)
Alain Francois Emile Godichon, Sylvain Georges Raymond Guillemin
Grant : June 11, 2002
An impeller is disclosed including a number of vanes, first and second coaxial disks formed from composite material on opposite sides of the vanes to fix the vanes in position, so that the impeller can rotate on an axis of rotation, and at least one reinforcing collar disposed coaxially with and adjacent to the axis of rotation to provide an interior collar, the at least one reinforcing collar comprising reinforcing fibers, such as carbon fibers.
